ART

I’m the youngest out of all my 5 siblings, and the biggest age gap is 19 years. Naturally they all have their own interests that they wanted to share with me as I was growing up. When I was about 11, one of my brothers introduced me to a book. It wasn’t a normal book with words and a plot; it was a book with pictures and short little anecdotes besides it. It was a book of a famous graffiti artist called Banksy, in it was pictures of stencilled, graffiti work that played with what the government at the time portrayed also playing with what society had become. Some of his work also has a lot to do with irony in this day and age. Of course I didn’t learn this straight away at the age of 11, as I eventually grew up I learnt more about his work, as I was very fond of it! And by then the anecdotes made much more sense.

I am a student taking A levels, and no, none of my A levels have nothing to do with art. I always said to myself Art will never become a job, to me Art will always have a place in my heart and it will always be an interest I will explore myself. The reason why I’m so obsessive over Art it’s because it was the only thing in my childhood that was good, the moment my dad bought an Art kit for me for my seventh birthday was the day I devoted my life to it.

Literally anything to do with Art will always get my attention, good or bad or Banksy.

BBC 21st Century class. Rep London. One Movement-ELBA.

First year of sixth form and Ms Quinn is on everyone’s case, talking about how we need to get ‘involved’ more. I wasn’t interested at all when I heard about Rep London in assembly, mostly because I could already tell everyone else was, from  all the ooo’s and the aww’s in the audience; so there was a lot of interest.  Me? I was sitting at the very back of the hall, and Holly Fitt was one of the assistance at our school was organising it,  she mentioned how it’s first come first served as a result a huge crowed ran up to her asking to put their names down for the project.

Cool as a cucumber, I was just waiting for my mates to hurry up from all the signing up they were doing for Rep London, so we could get the hell out of college and spend our time down at the park during our free study time.

I did sign up. (My friends are good at persuading)

After I was forced and influenced to sign up I heard from Holly Fitt, she gave me a form.  Because so many people signed up for this project they had to hand pick the ones who were more suitable for it. That day I had no homework; no essays; no nothing, in a way I was kind of meant to fill out that Rep London form. I wrote what I personally thought share my opinions on some questions. There was no way in hell they were going to pick me, I was not bothered about this project didn’t care because I didn’t know what it was about. Where there is no knowledge there is ignorance.

I got in along with at least 10 others. Really? Me? Besides all the clever A* people?  LOL

Rep London had a set of modules related to the Olympics 2012; it was all interesting went to all of the modules. However they grabbed, stole, nicked my attention when they said there was an opportunity to work on a project with BBC 21 CC. Forgot to mention I’m a media student, so anything with BBC in front of it was good enough. I love media, I love working with cameras or camcorders heck even radio; I love what can be produced at the end of it; I love how it calms me down because of how interesting it is. Media, technology, reading articles that I like, and knowing there are people out there that have the same interests as me can be shown through the amazing wonders of a television of a film or on paper. Media is connecting people in a way, getting people together. Media is for everyone in some ways, long story short I’m just fascinated in media.  Every type of media.

Sorry for babbling, I like media a lot.

BBC 21 CC gave me the opportunity to make a pod cast before, for this separate project they gave us proper gear, proper cameras to record peoples opinions on something. That something was the ‘One Movement’ event where sports and music were combined to make a product; it was the generation who were witnessing the Olympics of 2012 happening around them. ‘One Movement’ had a series of events happening all around East London. BBC gave me and others the opportunity to collect information and opinions of various athletes, people who attended the event, not to mention the entertainers. And to collect it with a proper lush camera recorder, I thought I died and went to heaven. I was already trying to measure my bag to see if it could fit in.

Sadly not.

If I could want something it would be working behind the set of something, anything. Documentaries are my forte. All that travelling just to see dear drink water from a stream, documentaries about animals, history was what I grew up watching in my summer holidays not to mention films that were too far away from my type of intellect to understand . Also organising a program would just be a splendid dream, writing a script would be too exiting, way too exiting. Just talking to my friend through the internet and writing about what were going to do in certain situations of our lives, thrills me.

This opportunity from Rep London was a head start I want to do a lot. Not only that, I want to do a job with the right intention, the intention of enjoyment, fulfilment, achievement.
I want to work in the media.

I should wake up.

Thanks

Painting Nails and Doctor Who

I'm a YouTuber and I’m subscribed to various Gurus, make up Gurus being one of them.

I saw this and thought how amazing it looked and how easy it is to achieve in your own home. Now I’m a makeup person I’m also into painting my nails nothing odd it's what most 17 year old girls are into. However among make up being one of my interests I’m also a diehard fan of Doctor Who....

The first post is always boring

Starting my first blog post today......... Basically this blog is about things I find interesting and also what goes down in my life. I’m 17 and life is pretty sweet but not for long as I yet wait for those dreaded A level results. Finished my first year in college, and don’t have a clue what to do, there are many like me; I like to think I’m going with a flow; this is my motto in life. Bit cheesy but gets me through the day. :)
